International Women’s Day is all about celebrating the achievements, hard work, and daily dedication of women across the world, both professionally and personally. In the spirit of this global movement, we are dedicating the Incorta blog to our amazing women colleagues this week and highlighting 10 individuals in the U.S. and Egypt in a series of daily spotlights.
Imagine a gender equal world. A world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. A world that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated. Together we can forge women’s equality. Collectively we can all #BreakTheBias.

Here’s a look at two remarkable women who play a major role in Incorta’s success:
What is the one idea you live by every day?
Everyday challenges are lessons that make me happier when I got a positive result or make me stronger if I got a negative result. But either way, I live by the idea to train myself to accept what I can and cannot control.
If you were given the chance to go back in time and tell your younger self one thing, what would it be?
Invest your time and energy in becoming better and getting stronger.
Can you tell us about a woman in your life who served as an inspiration to you?
My mom was a real hero, my dad died when I was four years old. she was in her thirties and became responsible for four kids alone — you can imagine how strong of a person she was with this challenge. I learned from her how to be a decision maker and responsible and stronger
What is one skill or attribute you feel is important for an effective leader to have?
To be an active listener, to be able to transform the team’s discussions, individual challenges, and ideas into real projects
How do you recharge?
I usually pray, do something fun, and spend more time with family and close friends.
What is the one idea you live by every day?
People will do what you expect them to do, not what you want them to do. It is YOUR job to turn your wants into expectations.
If you were given the chance to go back in time and tell your younger self one thing, what would it be?
There are two phases to life: a first half and a second half. That major obstacle you hit in your late 30s or 40s is meant to be there.
What is one skill or attribute you feel is important for an effective leader to have?
Empathy. There is an old Latin saying that states, “quidquid recipitur ad modum recipientis recipitur” and it means “people can only hear you based on what they know.” Empathy means you will communicate with people by understanding them first.
If you were giving a TED Talk, what would it be on?
Changing your wants to expectations changes the way you treat people.
What is the one value you live by every day?
Kindness.
