International Women’s Day is all about celebrating the achievements, hard work, and daily dedication of women across the world, both professionally and personally. In the spirit of this global movement, we are dedicating the Incorta blog to our amazing women colleagues this week and highlighting 10 individuals in the U.S. and Egypt in a series of daily spotlights.
Imagine a gender equal world. A world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. A world that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated. Together we can forge women’s equality. Collectively we can all #BreakTheBias.

Here’s a look at two remarkable women who play a major role in Incorta’s success:
What is the one idea you live by every day?
Make an impact of happiness on everyone around me, and try to make their life easier.
If you were given the chance to go back in time and tell your younger self one thing, what would it be?
Believe in yourself and learn how to say “NO.”
Can you tell us about a woman in your life who served as an inspiration to you?
My mother is my role model. She taught me the real meaning of kindness, patience, responsibility, and self-dependence. She also taught me how to face a problem with the confidence that it will go away and the only thing I will keep in the end is “the experience.”
If you were giving a TED Talk, what would it be on?
Life is not easy at all — but wait, be patient, and be kind. Things never stay as they are. My journey throughout my career was full of hard situations and obstacles and with patience everything turned out to be better.
What is the one value you live by every day?
Forgiveness.
What is the one idea you live by every day?
Always do your best. You can’t always control the outcome of a situation, but you can control the effort you give.
Can you tell us about a woman in your life who served as an inspiration to you?
Carolyn Held was a teacher who rode her bicycle from Seattle to Boston in 48 days to raise money for charity. She inspired me to ride annually in the MS150, which is a two-day, 150-mile bicycle ride that benefits Multiple Sclerosis.
What is one skill or attribute you feel is important for an effective leader to have?
Empathy — the ability to put yourself in someone else’s shoes. It brings people together and makes them feel included.
What is the one value you live by every day?
Be determined. You can accomplish anything when you set your mind to it.
How do you recharge?
I recharge by being outside. I am fortunate to live in a great place like Colorado with so much to offer. I enjoy trail running, mountain biking, mountaineering, and downhill skiing. These activities give me a chance to relax my mind and solve problems.
